CSM 2011

Central Saint Martins Degree Show in Fine Art takes place from the 17th until the 23rd June 2011. Catch it if you can. I'm gonna miss it but i wanna wish a good friend of mine Kazaron Fields a good show!! Good luck at the private view tonight kazzy! :)

McQueen

I'm doing my best to post as often as possible so with that in mind i thought i'd share with you my inspiration for this weeks set of designs. Right now we're transitioning into the winter months so i've been on the look out for designs which can work for autumn.This Alexander McQueen dress is GORGEOUS!! With any luck i'll be able to translate this look into at least four high-street friendly designs by next Tuesday!

Work - Week 1

Now that i've managed to get through a whole week of work i feel it's worth posting my thoughts on my new working & living arrangements.
Luckily i haven't found the change of location too difficult to adjust to in terms of my work. the most difficult thing is not allowing myself to become distracted by thoughts of the beach! not having a car for most of the day has helped enormously with this! i managed to get myself set up pretty quickly and locate all the equipment i need (although i foresee a problem finding specific pens locally, but i'll just have to find a way around that).

I had some trouble with my dye for a while but i put that down to my own stupidity and moved on.  Apparently using a slightly larger pot than usual was just too much for my brain to handle. Needless to say the concentration (of the dye and not my brain in this case) was completely off for quite some time.  

anyway..........this weeks brief was winter animal prints and although i can't publish the entire design for copyright reasons i can publish sections and sketches so................

Website update

I recently added a new 'Artwork' section to my website which i will do my best to update as often as possible so keep your eyes peeled for new work!

Progress

While i'm here in this tropical paradise i'll continue with the job i do in London. (this for those who don't know is designing textiles on a freelance basis for a company called Bay & Brown).

I will also be finishing a project i started last summer for a hotel here. over the past few days i have made a start on the final drawings that needed to be completed for said project. it is quite likely that they will need to be changed before going to print but i'll give u a peek at the progress i've made with them so far!
